Two innovative school districts share their approach at creating the next generation of CTE centers for students. Midlothian ISD’s newly launched Midlothian Innovative Learning Experience (MILE) Campus and Williamson County’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center (EIC) launched in 2019 share their early success stories. At the EIC, cyber students blur the lines of traditional programming and real-world applications. The cyber students act as tech support for an innovative entrepreneurial program that has resulted in job offers, mentorships and creating new products. This collaboration has opened the door for students to work with more than just scenarios within their classes. Programmatic efforts have expanded into all 10 high schools that feed into the EIC. This powerful exercise has opened students up to a world that they wouldn''t otherwise be privy to and provides opportunities to develop employability skills, teamwork, and creativity.
